The word “mystic” is defined as “a person who seeks by contemplation and self-surrender to obtain unity with or absorption into the divine or absolute, or who believes in the spiritual apprehension of truths that are beyond the intellect.”  As midwives we deeply understand the mystery and magic of pregnancy and childbirth.  We bear witness to the transformation of each individual woman in her surrender to the unknown and her ability to trust her body and baby beyond her own intellect.
