Birth Gardens is dedicated to providing compassionate and holistic support to families on their breastfeeding journeys. We believe in empowering parents with evidence-based information and personalized care that considers the whole family's well-being.

We are a growing practice looking for a passionate and dedicated IBCLC to join our team on a contract basis.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to provide lactation support to our clients through a combination of in-home and office visits. This is a contract position ideal for an individual looking to contribute to a supportive team environment. While no prior professional experience beyond IBCLC certification is required, the ideal candidate will possess excellent listening skills, a naturally empathetic approach, and a commitment to holistic care. We are eager to train the right individual in our specific protocols and approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive lactation consultations in clients' homes and at our office location, providing individualized support and developing care plans.

  • Assess breastfeeding dyads, identify challenges, and provide evidence-based solutions.

  • Educate parents on breastfeeding techniques, milk production, newborn feeding cues, and related topics.

  • Maintain accurate and timely client records.

  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards of practice.

  • Actively participate in training and mentorship provided by Birth Gardens.

  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers as needed (with client consent).

  • Maintain a commitment to a holistic approach to care, considering the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the family.

  • Communicate supply needs for specific client cases as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must be an actively certified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

  • Demonstrated strong listening skills and a naturally empathetic demeanor.

  • Commitment to providing holistic, client-centered care.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (for commuting to the office and home visits).

  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule within agreed-upon hours.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must comply with all relevant privacy and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • A genuine passion for supporting breastfeeding families.

  • An open and eager attitude towards learning and implementing our organization's protocols.

  • Comfort with technology for record-keeping and communication.

Compensation:

Compensation will be on a per-visit or hourly contract basis, to be discussed based on experience and local market rates.

 

Expected Time Commitment:

This contract position is expected to start with approximately 4-6 client visits per week, with the potential for growth over time.
