Celebrating mothers, celebrating you

This May feels especially meaningful because it’s a month to celebrate you. You are a mom navigating the beautiful, messy, exhausting, and powerful journey of motherhood and I hope you take a moment to honor yourself. You truly are the best mom your baby deserves! !

Some of you already know my own mom gave me quite a scare a few weeks ago. I’ve been supporting her through surgery after a heart attack, and moments like these remind me just how important mothers are. Whether we’re caring for newborns, toddlers, teens, or our own aging parents, the role of a mother is irreplaceable.

One, two, three, or more kids... no matter how many little ones you’re raising, you are their rock. . You are their safety net, supporting them in whatever they are doing.

I am not saying we are doing great every time; we are human, and we make mistakes. I know I am making mistakes. But none of that changes the love, intention, and devotion we pour into our families.

So as we move through this month of honoring mothers, I want to wish you a heartfelt Happy Mother’s Day. You deserve rest, recognition, and support in every season of motherhood. You are seen. You are valued. And you are doing an incredible job.

And if I could give you three daily empowerments, they would be:

1. Take the time to breathe, to be connected to yourself, to be mindful.

Mindful breathing is one of the most powerful tools for regulating your nervous system during the postpartum period. Apps like My Breathing App can guide you, or you can try a simple grounding practice like the 4‑7‑8 breathing technique: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, and exhale slowly for 8.

This helps calm your body, reduce stress, and bring you back into yourself, something every new mom deserves.

2. Take the time to be present with your baby, to be mindful of being together.

In early motherhood, your mind is often juggling to‑dos, feeding schedules, and constant mental load. Give yourself permission to pause. Spend five minutes simply observing your baby, their expressions, their movements, their curiosity.

Let them see you too: your smile, your tears, your laughter. This mindful bonding supports emotional connection and helps you slow down in a season that can feel overwhelming.

3. Take the time to be kind to yourself.

Write yourself one positive thought about yourself, a positive action, or a positive feeling. If you have a hard time doing it, ask your partner, your friend, or your sister. Ask your village to send you these sweet words.

They’re not saying it “just to be nice.” They’re saying it because it’s true and because you deserve to hear it.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Your Online Postpartum Support Community Is Coming!

I’ve been quietly working on something meaningful, a project designed to support moms in every stage of pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood.

Over the past few months, I’ve created a series of supportive videos, guided journals, and day‑to‑day resources to help you feel more grounded, informed, and connected.

But I wanted to go further.

I’m building an online support community for moms, a space where we can meet weekly, talk openly, and learn together. Each week, we’ll explore a topic that so many mothers navigate:

  • pregnancy changes

  • postpartum recovery

  • breastfeeding challenges

  • emotional wellness

  • realities of early motherhood

My goal is simple: to make sure no mom feels alone in this season.

If you’d like to learn more about my course, From Nesting to Nurturing, you can connect with me through this link. I’d love to support you in whatever stage of motherhood you’re in.
